Carrier Overview

Transatlantic & European Travel with Lufthansa

As Europe's largest flag carrier group and a founding member of Star Alliance, Lufthansa connects over 20 North American gateways directly to its premier German hubs in Frankfurt (FRA) and Munich (MUC). From there, travelers can connect smoothly to hundreds of destinations across Europe, the Middle East, South Asia, and Africa.

With the rollout of Lufthansa Allegris long-haul cabins alongside Economy Light, Classic, and Flex fare bundles, understanding seat assignment rules, checked baggage inclusions, and Schengen transit requirements before booking is essential.

Lufthansa FAQ

Common questions about Lufthansa

Answers to frequent questions regarding Lufthansa fare rules, baggage policies, and reservation assistance.

No. Economy Light is a hand-baggage-only fare that includes 1 carry-on bag (up to 8 kg) and 1 small personal item. If you plan to check luggage, comparing Economy Classic is often more cost-effective than paying airport bag fees.
